Less thoughtful

I have derived the impression that those who follow a revealed religion are necessarily less thoughtful than those who "judge things for themselves". The reverse is true. If one follows a revealed religion, one must therefore believe that there is a judge of truth higher than oneself. The only means of persuasion that an atheist will admit are those which he deems acceptable--he is the judge of truth. On the other hand, a believer can be persuaded that their view is incorrect when laid against a revealed standard.
